History of the JLE

JLE is striving to inspire young Jews across the UK through learning and education and to make Judaism relevant & meaningful in the 21st century.

Our aim is to show the significance and deeper meaning of Judaism to 21st-century Jews and to enable them to make informed life decisions by providing the highest quality educational and social opportunities in a relevant and welcoming environment.

For 34 years, JLE has been developing meaningful relationships and delivering world-class Jewish Education to thousands of Jews, primarily in the United Kingdom. Today, the JLE centre has become a hub for Jews with a thirst to understand more about their heritage.

We operate programs and initiatives within schools, on university campuses, for young professionals, and programs for men and women. Within the centre, our students can also experience Shabbat Hospitality and attend one of the many social events occurring throughout the year.

The JLE is a non-judgemental, warm, and welcoming environment that allows young Jews a space to develop and enrich their Jewish knowledge and identity. Being both a social, communal, and teaching space, the JLE is able to offer participants a chance to experience a sense of “belonging” whilst providing the skills to increase their day-to-day knowledge of Judaism.
